ABORTION AND THE BIBLE
Does God forbid abortion? Many people think he does, but they merely cite
poetry or theological speculation. God actually speaks about abortion in
only two places in the Bible, and Jesus never mentioned it at all.
- ACCIDENTAL ABORTION
If a brawling man happens to strike a pregnant woman and causes a
miscarriage, that is, an ABORTION, he must pay a fine to the expectant
father. But if he injures the woman in any other way, he must be punished
accordingly (Exodus 21:22-25).
- INTENTIONAL ABORTION
If a man suspects that his wife has had intercourse with another man--and
possibly has become pregnant--he shall take her to the tabernacle, where
the priest will mix holy water with dust off the floor--where animals are
slaughtered for sacrifice--and force the woman to drink it. If she is
guilty, her womb will discharge and her uterus will drop. In other words,
she will have had an ABORTION (Numbers 5:11-21).
In neither case does God say that the fetus has a so-called "right to
life." And in neither case does God forbid abortion.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS?
For many years millions of people have believed in Santa Claus. Today
millions more believe in him. Why do so many claim Santa as their personal
friend? Because they have found that the true way to know Santa is to
believe in him. And the only way to receive his gifts is to become like
little children and have complete faith in him.
Of course some people - agnostics, atheists, freethinkers, liberals, and
secular humanists - claim that Santa Claus is a mythical being who was
invented by humans. But these scoffers and doubters will never destroy
people's faith in him, for as long as people believe in free gifts they
will believe in Santa Claus.
Human gifts have to be made out of earthly materials; Santa creates his
gifts out of nothing. Human gifts have to be paid for; Santa gives us his
gifts for free. Some people think he needs to be reminded of what they
would like, but Santa already knows what we need. All we have to know is
that Santa Claus is alive and loves us. All we have to do is to make a
personal commitment to believe in him. So won't you, too, accept Santa's
offer of free gifts? Just kneel down, bow your head, close your eyes, and
reverently say to yourself:
"Dear Santa Claus. I truly believe in you and want you for my personal
friend. Let me humbly accept your gifts, not because I deserve them, but
because it is your will that I should receive them. Let me not doubt, but
increase my faith; for the harder I believe in you, the more real you
become. Amen."

WHEN IS JESUS COMING?
I tell you the truth, there are some standing here who will not taste
death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom (Matthew 16:28).
Truly, I tell you, this generation will not pass away before all these
things have taken place (Matthew 24:34; Mark 13:30).
So also, when you see these things happening: know that the kingdom of God
is near. In truth I tell you, before this generation has passed away all
will have taken place (Luke 21:31-32).
For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive,
who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have
died. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven, and the dead in
Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be
caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air,
and so we will be with the Lord forever (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17).
I am coming soon! I am indeed coming soon! (Revelation 22:12, 20).
The Gospel of Mark was written around the year 71, Matthew around 80, and
Luke around the year 90. The apostle Paul wrote his first letter to the
Thessalonians - in Greece - around the year 50. Revelation was written
around the year 90.
This flyer was first typed in the year 1992, almost 2,000 years after
Jesus and Paul made these promises. So according to the Bible they were
both false prophets.

GOD LOVES CHILDREN
Read what the Bible says about God's love for children:
According to God's law, children are not persons but the property of their
fathers, who may sell them as slaves (Exodus 21:7).
God promised to send wild animals to kill and eat the children of the
Hebrews if they didn't obey him. If they still didn't obey him, he
promised to make them kill and eat their children themselves (Leviticus
26:29; Deuteronomy 28:53).
God frequently ordered the Hebrews to kill all of the people in the lands
they conquered. This includes slaughtering all the children and all
pregnant women (Deuteronomy 2:34; etc.).
If you do not obey God, he will punish your children and your children's
children unto the third and fourth generation (Exodus 20:5, 34:7; etc.).
God says, "Kill both man and woman, infant and suckling..." (1 Samuel 15:3).
God says, "Their infants will be dashed in pieces before their eyes..."
(Isaiah 13:6).
God says, "Happy is he that dashes your little ones against the stones"
(Psalm 137:9).
Because some adults offended God, he deliberately drowned the entire human
race (except the Noah family). This included every little child and every
pregnant woman (Genesis 6 & 7).
Does God really love children? The Bible says NO!

JAMES WHO?
Even though good modern translations of the Bible are available today, many
fundamentalists refuse to read any translation but the Authorised Version,
otherwise known as the King James Bible. Indeed, some of them even call it
the Saint James Bible.
The James to whom they refer is King James VI of Scotland, who became King
James I of England when Queen Elizabeth I of England died in 1603. He did
not like the Geneva Bible of 1560 because it was too Protestant, so he had
a committee of scholars make a new translation suitable for the Church of
England.
The King James, or Authorised, Version was completed in 1611. It sounded
old-fashioned even in its own day, but it is one of the great works of the
English language. Even though it is not based on accurate texts, many
people think it is infallible.
Although King James was head of both the Church of England and the Church
of Scotland (as his successor, Queen Elizabeth II still is), he was not
personally religious. But neither did he permit freedom of religion. If you
lived in Scotland, you had to be a Presbyterian; if you lived in England,
you had to be an Anglican.
King James loved to hunt, and enjoyed trampling in the warm blood and guts
of animals he had killed. And although he was the father of several
children, he preferred to go to bed with young men.
Today, almost four hundred years later, King James has become Saint James,
the patron saint of fundamentalists.
