Hello Freethinkers,

It's time for our April meeting!

Doug Krueger will give us a presentation on the gun problem in the United States. We have a lot of guns, and a lot of shooting. But do guns make us safer--or less safe? How does the U.S. compare to our peer countries regarding gun violence?
We were thinking of making this into a debate (which Doug has done on this issue before), but for this presentation we will be relying upon the audience to provide feedback and rebuttal.

We have considered several submissions for our new logo design(s) and have narrowed it down to just a few. We'll have a vote at this meeting and decide who wins.

We have plans for our Freethinker booth at the Blockstreet party on May 17. We'll have magic tricks galore and a new method by which our freethinking scapegoat can process and remit sins. It's gonna be fun!

Time permitting, we may watch an episode of "Brain Games." It really does a good job of showing how thoroughly our senses are constantly fooled. This makes the point that is central to our cause; the need to use reason, critical thinking and time tested scientific methods to discover what is really going on in the world around us. As best as one can approximate of course.
