May 2014 Freethinker Meeting

Post by Dardedar »

Howdy Freethinkers. We'll be gathering for our May meeting this weekend and please note it will be on Sunday this time. Fortunately, it's late enough in the day that it won't interfere with your church attendance.
We had a very successful booth at the Block Street Party last weekend, and we met lots of new people. Our scapegoat gathered up a big load of sins.

On our secular agenda:
Dan Coody, long time mayor of Fayetteville, will talk about advances in solar power and the new home they just built in Fayetteville which has the distinction of having the highest efficiency rating in the country. What does this have to do with freethought? We'll figure something out.

Darrel will walk us through some simple steps of how to quickly investigate claims people like to pass around in emails and post online.

Tamara will give us a Moral Question of the Day (and it's about sex).

We may watch part two of the documentary "American Freethought." If we want to know where we're going, it's important to learn where we've come from and what those who came before have accomplished. You can see a trailer for this inspiring series here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri3UGg3uRWY

Hope to see you at the meeting!
