Meeting: Occam's Razors

Post by Randall Doc Fleck »

The meeting was primarily organizational in nature. The aim was to open a doorway of communication and mutual cooperation between the University of Arkansas atheist students organization, Occum's Razors, and its counterpart local community organization, Fayetteville Freethinkers. It was a more than cordial meeting, quite fun actually, and it was very successful at achieving its goal.

A highlight moment in the meeting was the passing of a torch of responsibility for keeping Occam's Razors alive and well on UA's campus. The leadership role passed without any special ceremony from Kevin Metcalf to Zac Henderson over a nod and a handshake while assurances for good faith assistance and aide were given from all around. Bill Harter, faculty advisor to Occam's Razors, spoke for the Fayetteville Freethinkers Community Group to underline that groups' open door policy of welcome to all students, extending his invitation for everyone to take part not only in its regular monthly meetings but also in its community projects. Online blogger, Laura Moody, aka. Redheaded Skeptic (http://redheadedskept...) and Randall "Doc" Fleck of FreeThoughtUSA.org and Randi Henderson were also in attendance as interested parties attached to the groups.

Bottom line... it was well worth the time.
