It's time for the May meeting of the Fayetteville Freethinkers. We have presentations lined up and a documentary feature you won't want to miss.
Presentations in the works:
Darrel will give us a full report on our very successful Springfest booth in April. We met and talked with hundreds of people, gave out a whole lot of our pamphlets and had 19 people step forward to proudly come out of the "Freethinker Closet." We have pictures. Also, eighteen new people signed on to our email list (now 220).
Christian Loeschel will give his first presentation on a growing and serious problem in medicine: antibiotic resistance. What can be done to help the situation and minimize risk?
Doug Krueger will have a presentation on his day at the recent UFO convention in Eureka Springs. The aliens have landed, and they're helping our government build new things, according to the main speaker at the convention.
After a break we will watch the documentary feature "For the Bible Tells Me So" (98 minutes). It won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival and has a combined critics score of 93% at rottentomatoes.com. This is a good time to spread the word about this powerful film considering the recent decision allowing same sex marriage in California.
