The original human- caused global warming hypothesis (of course all human caused Global Warming is just an hypothesis), predicted that by 2008, that temperatures would have risen drastically. Of course we know now that temperatures have not risen at all in 10 full years.

So the original hypothesis is false. In quality science circles that would be that. But in human created global warming, the shrillness in support of the failed hypothesis continues. Your leader, Al Gore has made a fortune by preaching his crap- yet he lives in an incredible, (and a total energy hog) Mansion in Nashville. The man you folks hate the most, owns 1 modest house- a modern, and ultra green house in Crawford, TX that uses the energy that 1 of Gore's bedroom uses. Yet you love Gore who has gotten rich and you hate Pres. Bush.

Human created global warming is a myth, not far from a unicorn. Human beings from thousands of years back loved making up the "end of the world" stories- you folks are just like the Cavemen- "The sky is falling...)

Global warming and liberalism is a religion. You have false prophets extolling myths and followers terrified into believing the nonsense.

You free thinkers are no different than Ronnie Floyd's minions.

The Movie, "Expelled" should be interesting.

As is so often with hate- one becomes what they hate.

This board has 3 posters and few others. You are rude and close minded. You have your own religion, the one of we're right and they're wrong.

Once again we see Galt demonstrating he is completely incapable of presenting any evidence refuting even a single aspect of global warming, as presently understood and established by the world scientific community.

He can't even bring himself to try. Probably for the best. He just gets roasted anyway.

His failure should come as no surprise considering, even after repeated reminders, he still isn't capable of figuring out that science topics belong in the science section.

Note to SAV: Maybe we should consider making the IQ test required for a guest to post a little harder. Galt, like any dumb dumb, has now figured out the 2 + 2 thing and is cutting and pasting at will. Perhaps if you make the question a little harder we can raise the bar around here a little.

Will a sincere global warmer denier, with a modicum of intelligence and desire for an honest exchange of ideas ever wander in here and teach us something we don't already know? Does such a person even exist? I am becoming doubtful.

So was the original hypothesis about general relativity. Therefore relativity is false? Tell me, do you have trouble thinking logically, or do you just not think logically?
John Galt wrote:The Movie, "Expelled" should be interesting.
Maybe for you. I know all I need to know: Mathis can only dream of being a two-bit hack and is so dishonest that he tried to slander his own sources even after double-crossing them. We can also rip him a new one for being a flaming hypocrite by expelling PZ Myers from the open viewing and then lying about why. These are your champions; nice to see you're doing your best to live up to the hypocrisy of Mathis.

Please demonstrate you know what a "hypothesis" is. I have my doubts. How CO2 in the atmosphere causes the earth to warm was understood in the 1824. Today we know how much we are adding and have added to the atmosphere (and can trace it's source via isotopes) and have a very good idea of how much warming this has caused. This has all been covered on this forum before.
GALT
[GW] predicted that by 2008, that temperatures would have risen drastically.
DAR
They have. Average temperatures during the last ten years have been higher than the last millennium. As predicted.
GALT
Of course we know now that temperatures have not risen at all in 10 full years.
DAR
Oh, were you of the opinion that GW predicts temperatures must go up neatly every year in nice neat steps? Sorry, you are mis-informed. What matters is that the adjusted average is extraordinary and a little worse than predicted. Get informed.
So the original hypothesis is false.
DAR
What "original hypothesis?" Cite it. Be specific. I'll give you a hint: his name is Hanson.
In quality science circles that would be that.
DAR
We have the hottest ten years in recorded history and you think "the hypothesis" is refuted because... _________
Your leader, Al Gore has made a fortune by preaching his crap-
DAR
This is really pathetic of you, and really the only reason I bothered to respond to this latest insulting rant from you. To quote (wiki):
"An Inconvenient Truth is an American Academy Award-winning documentary film about global warming, presented by former United States Vice President Al Gore and directed by Davis Guggenheim.

Earning $49 million at the box office worldwide, An Inconvenient Truth is the fourth-highest-grossing documentary film to date in the United States,..."
So the movie and book made a tremendous amount of money. Did Gore pocket it like he would have the right to? No:

"Tipper and I are devoting 100 percent of the profits from the book and the movie to a new bipartisan educational campaign to further spread the message about global warming." Albert Gore

You say he preaches "crap." Cite an example. Be specific. Don't be such a pathetic, gutless, coward. Ayn Rand would be embarrassed.

Gore makes Nashville home more 'green'

* Home now has solar panels, a rainwater-collection system and geothermal heating

* Highest rating possible "short of tearing it down," says U.S. Green Building Council

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- Al Gore, who was criticized for high electric bills at his Tennessee mansion, has completed a host of improvements to make the home more energy efficient, and a building-industry group has praised the house as one of the nation's most environmentally friendly.

The former vice president has installed solar panels, a rainwater-collection system and geothermal heating. He also replaced all incandescent lights with compact fluorescent or light-emitting diode bulbs -- even on his Christmas tree.

"Short of tearing it down and staring anew, I don't know how it could have been rated any higher," said Kim Shinn of the U.S. Green Building Council, which gave the house its second-highest rating for sustainable design.

Gore's improvements cut the home's summer electrical consumption by 11 percent compared with a year ago, according to utility records reviewed by The Associated Press. Most Nashville homes used 20 percent to 30 percent more electricity during the same period because of a record heat wave.

Shinn said Gore's renovations are impressive because his home, which is more than 80 years old, had to meet the same rigorous standards as new construction.

"One of the things that is tremendously powerful about what the Gores have done is demonstrate that you can take a home that was a dog, an absolute energy pig, and do things to correct that," Shinn said.

...

The Green Building Council's certification program has four levels, with platinum being the highest followed by gold. Gore's home was one of 14 to earn gold status and the only Tennessee home to earn any certification.

Electricity usage at the home remains well above regional averages, but Gore's power consumption decreased by 6,890 kilowatt hours, or 11 percent, between June and August, despite the heat wave.

Gore's electric use increased again after he had to take his solar panels off-line in August so his new geothermal system could be integrated into the system. But his natural gas use has dropped 93 percent in the three months since the geothermal pump was activated.

When the Gores' heated pool is hooked up to the system later this month, their energy use is expected to decline more, his spokeswoman said.

Gore has also said he invests in renewable energy such as solar and wind power to balance 100 percent of his electricity usage."

Yes I know, I have a chapter on Bible prophecy in my book.
Global warming and liberalism is a religion.

Actually, Global warming is a scientific fact (with 95% certainty that it is mostly human caused) and liberalism is, well, according to the dictionary:

"a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties."

You're right. That does sound pretty nasty.
The Movie, "Expelled" should be interesting.

That's why we appreciate your efforts to defend conservatism so much. Bring your friends. We'll roast them too. But you have already tried that haven't ya....
You are rude and close minded. You have your own religion, the one of we're right and they're wrong.
DAR
But we are right and you are wrong. Don't you ever get tired of being wrong all the time? I sure get tired of you being wrong all of the time. Try to do something about that would you? I would love for you to be right some of the time. Really.

Freedom and civil liberties? The conservatives sure hate that kind of talk. No wonder Galt is galled. Bush has been eroding our civil liberties by spying on us illegally, using secret prisons to torture, using Nixonian tactics to silense dissenters, etc, etc. Conservatives hate freedom, especially the right to think and speak freely.

Poor Galt. His fascist president is going to leave office and someone who loves the Constitution will be taking his place...

Intelligence not linked to wealth, according to US study
AFP

Published: Tuesday April 24, 2007

Intelligence has nothing to do with wealth, according to a US study published Tuesday which found that people with below average smarts were just as wealthy as those with higher IQ scores.

"People don't become rich because they are smart," said Jay Zagorsky, research scientist at Ohio State University whose study appears in the Journal Intelligence.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics survey included 7,403 Americans who have been interviewed repeatedly since 1979. Based on 2004 answers, people who are now in their mid-40s showed no link between brain- and earning-power.

"Your IQ has really no relationship to your wealth. And being very smart does not protect you from getting into financial difficulty," Zagorsky said.

What a nerve!

Post by Uncle Galt »

Good morning free thinkers! What a nerve I have struck. I did not mean to imply that I have more earthly treasures than you 3 have. I may have said that in the past- as a failed attempt to get you out of the rut you are all in.

It seems to me that if you would put a fraction of the energy you put into justifying being poor and slamming true free thinkers that dare to question man-made global warming (and other liberal notions)- You would have more cash for you and your families.

I think your wives, kids and charitable causes that you support would appreciate a little more cash. You could live in a nicer, (and ever greener home), you could buy a nicer bike or even a Prius. Just think of the 20 plus hours a week you put into hating other people and justifying your poor and god-free life. That time could be spent for you and your family. I think your wives/ kids, heck even your pets would appreciate a little more money in the bank.

With your obvious high smarts you could earn greater income pretty quickly. The old expression "Knowledge is power" is false. That is important to know. Knowledge is simply potential power. Apply your knowledge to the free marketplace and fill a need that exists. Sounds easy? It's not. That's why many smart people are average or poor in terms of wealth. Was Sam Walton pretty smart? Yes. But it takes a lot more than "smarts" to survive in this world and prosper.

Just think of me as your happy Uncle- the Uncle that smiles and wishes the very best for you all.

Best wishes,

Your soon to be favorite Uncle,

There's some clear thinking. You "may have said it," but you "did not mean to imply it."
Isn't it curious how when people tend to lie or obfuscate, they end up blatantly contradicting themselves.
...if you would put a fraction of the energy you put into justifying being poor...
DAR
Suggestion. Instead of this constant theme of you fantasizing about how much money someone else does or does not have, or should or should not have, why don't you try saying something of substance. And then either defend it, or more likely, retract it (when it's shown to be wrong). That would be honest, and more interesting.
and slamming true free thinkers that dare to question man-made global warming...
DAR
We are all for questioning it. Question away. But you have to have some ammo in your gun. Your powder has to be dry. All you have is blanks but even they won't go off because you're all wet. Post your best argument refuting GW, then stand back and see if it can withstand a little critical examination. History shows that nothing you have posted on this issue can even get off the ground. Why? The truth is, you know next to nothing about the issue. You don't even understand the questions. All you know is slogans and talking points. And it's all been roasted before, right here.
You would have more cash for you and your families.
DAR
How much cash would a person need to accumulate before you would deem it adequate? What is the magic number?

Flunked, not expelled: What Ben Stein isn't telling you about intelligent design.

"Expelled Exposed is a new National Center for Science Education website that counters the Ben Stein/Premise Media anti-evolution movie, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. It is available at www.expelledexposed.com. Currently in a preliminary stage, Expelled Exposed consists of a collection of links containing the most basic and important resources for teachers, scientists, reporters, and members of the public who seek information now to respond to this movie. On April 16, days before the movie Expelled is premiered on April 18, NCSE will launch the full version of the website. In its final form, Expelled Exposed will examine claims made in the movie and explain, neatly and concisely, why each is an exaggeration, a misrepresentation, or a fabrication. NCSE encourages all interested parties to bookmark the site, and pass the link on to friends and family, so that by the time the creationist movie is released, www.expelledexposed.com will be the most popular Expelled site on the internet!"
